Entry Level Nuclear Engineer
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is looking for a nuclear engineer to perform fleet physics. Job tasks include performing engineering evaluations and analyses in support of operating reactors. Cognizant areas may include planning, computer modeling, analyzing, documenting, and testing of nuclear cores. Work may include exciting opportunities for travel to shipyards, naval bases, and training sites in order to learn about and support the operating fleet.
Required Skills *
Associate:
- BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university required.
Intermediate:
- BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
- MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience; or
- Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
- SRE Qualification
Preferred Skills
- Experience in nuclear analysis with Monte Carlo or diffusion theory codes
- Prior Navy and/or naval nuclear propulsion program experience
