The Financial Management Services Division of the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (Virginia ABC) is seeking an energetic Sr. Accounting Support Analyst.


 

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Timely and accurate preparation and keying of payment vouchers
  • Payment of invoices using the Small Purchase Charge Card (SPCC)
  • Responding to vendor inquiries, and audit, analyze and reconcile agency expenses to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), state guidelines as required by CAPP (Commonwealth Accounting Policies and Procedures), as well as federal guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with accounts payable or bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of office procedures and accounting principles
  • Strong professional interpersonal skills in communicating orally and in writing with internal and external customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Have the ability to apply policies and resolve routine issues.


 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education and experience include college-level coursework in Accounting or Business
  • Experience with Accounts Payable
  • Knowledge of the Commonwealth Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP) manual and related procedures including pay, and experience with Cardinal, and/or PeopleSoft Financials.
  • Experience with the use of eVA Virginia’s Marketplace.
